Background

Our family holidays have really taken off over the last few years. The opportunity to have an exciting family holiday with activities for the whole family has become increasingly popular. Our holidays take the strain out of having to organise something every day and we doubt that you'll ever here the immortal words "I'm bored" from parents or children! Parents also get a break from cooking & washing-up- hurrah! The all-inclusive bit means we guarantee that there are no supplements to pay. Lots of family type holidays are advertised with an attractive base price. However, the costs can rise dramatically once equipment hire, activities, instruction, meals etc are taken into account. As a smaller, family run company we can offer genuine value and keep the quality high. We're not cheap though, just inexpensive!

Llain is set in the beautiful mid-Wales countryside and is just a mile from the sea. Lying between the small towns of Aberaeron and New Quay, we are well placed for many of the other local attractions such as dolphin spotting boat trips from New Quay & local craft centres at Aberaeron. They are both ideal towns for whiling away an hour with an ice cream or strolling along one of the blue-flag beaches. Recent press articles have described our coastline as being very beautiful, like Cornwall, but without the crowds.

Activities- there's loads to do & enjoy

We provide a broad variety of activities including kayaking, canoeing, sailing, climbing, abseiling, orienteering, low & high ropes course, zip-wire, team challenges, coastal walks & adventure course. They're pitched at a level so that everyone can participate and it doesn't matter if you've never tried them before - we just need a bit of enthusiasm and we'll get you going in no time. Our activities are great fun and our instructors are brilliant at giving you and your family the best possible experience.

Our aim is to give everyone the skills and instruction to progress at their own pace whilst having an enjoyable experience. Physical condition is generally not an issue and a bonus from this type of holiday is it gives your fitness a boost. As a rule of thumb, provided you can walk for 30 minutes without needing oxygen or keeling over, then you'll be fine. Children are generally aged 8 and above but we've had 6 year olds who've coped really well and gained confidence throughout the week.

The activities are laid on during the day and there's no compulsion to take part in everything. We offer some evening activities including a beach walk, a fun quiz & we do a special campfire down the woods on the final night. Evenings are pretty relaxed and families often end up sharing a bottle of wine on the picnic tables outside the chalets or heading down to the beach. There are no video games or TV (although we have been bribed when major sporting events are on- e.g. World Cup 2010). To keep everyone occupied there's also a swimming pool, playing field, basketball court & games room on-site.

Fabulous Food

We understand that healthy appetites develop from lots of exercise and fresh air. Our meals are carefully prepared and we have rave reviews about the catering side of the centre. Fresh Homemade Pizza, Roast Welsh Lamb, The best Chilli in the West and some very lovely Curries are just a few of our specialities to keep everyone content. There are normally various choices on the menu and we can cater for most tastes and special diets. Our aim is to feed you healthily, using as much local produce as we can find and to serve you food that you will genuinely enjoy eating. Due to requests from previous years we leave one mid-week evening 'food free' so that families can head out to explore and eat at their own convenience.

Accommodation

Each family has their own chalet and this comprises of 2 bedrooms (with bunks), living area, wash/storage room & a bathroom shower. They all have drinks making facilities and a small fridge. They're fairly simple but have a good amount of space and are clean & tidy. You need to bring bedding i.e. a duvet or sleeping bag and a pillowcase as each bed has a top sheet & pillow only.

All equipment is included in the price and all activities on site are lead by qualified and experienced instructors. The centre is fully insured and we hold the Government License for Activity Centres. (AALA Reg. no. R0613).

The booking procedure couldn't be simpler:

2. Download or request a booking form & pay 20% of the total to confirm your booking.
3. Pay the remainder on arrival.
